On Wednesday 8th December, 17 Epeeists took part in the first round of the rigorous challenge of a Poule Unique. The fencing was fast and furious, with scarcely a break between each fight, and by the end of the evening 152 bouts had taken place. A remarkable feat of arms within one and a half hours.
On the following Wednesday, somewhat unfortunately, only 10 Epeeists were able to turn up to complete the Poule Unique and then take part in the Direct Elimination stage of the competition which produced the following order:-
